FAMILY: Runtaceae

PLACE OF PRODUCTION: Croatia

APPEARANCE:  matt yellow color

TASTE: citrusy and sour taste

HEALING POWERS: contains folic acid, the vitamins C, A. B1. B6, potassium, calcium, magnesium, has a beneficial effect on the functioning of the liver, intestines, nervous and cardiovascular systems

PART OF PLANT: fruit

PROCESSING METHOD: the slices are dried in a dehydrator under controlled conditions 

Fun fact

  • lemon was so rare that it was often a gift for kings
  • lemon fruit can grow up to 30 cm





Usage

COOKERY: 
  • seasoning for marinades, salads, a supplement for tea, fish and meat dishes
CATERING/HOSPITALITY: 
  • ingredient and decoration for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, lemonades, warm beverages like tea and punch, and even in plain water
  • compliments beautifully with Mediterranean herbs, Juniper, cinnamon, mint, ginger and other spices

  • dark, dry place at room temperature
  • shelf life: 12 months
